Lars Bondeson (1865-1908) was a Swedish singer, storyteller, lyricist and music publisher. One of the founders of "bondkomik" (rustic humor), his songbooks were an important resource for entertainers in both Sweden and America.
Twelve of the songs on this page were recorded in America by Gustav Fonandern, Joel Mossberg, Hjalmar Peterson and Charles G. Widdén. Three others were published in American editions of "Lars Bondesons Varieté-kupletter och visor" (Lars Bondeson's Music hall numbers and songs). Five of the songs also appeared in Hjalmar Peterson's 1921 songbook.
"Ett Hår Af Hin" was a Lars Bondeson recording issued by Edison Records. The song was published in American songbooks as well. Charles G. Widdén recorded it as "Per Och Stina".
“Böljarna De Blå” (The Waves Of Blue) was published in Lars Bondeson’s songbooks. Its melody was used for the song “Medel För Kalla Ben”, whose Norwegian lyrics were by Alv Schievloe. E. Rolf wrote a Swedish translation, which he recorded with great success.
